Carolyn Currey

R.A.D. Instructor

Carolyn Currey launched her dance career directing disorganized ballet performances in the living room with her seven siblings. Costumes and storytelling were too much fun to give up, so she turned it into a career. During her training, Carolyn worked through all RAD exam levels up to Solo Seal. During her graduating year, she danced with the Oakville Ballet Company. She went on to take the RAD teacher’s training, entered successful students at all levels, and has been a guest teacher at studios across Canada and internationally. In 2007, she co-founded Soli Deo Gloria Ballet (later 1:11 Ministries), which toured across Canada and internationally. As a mixed arts team, they brought multiple productions to a wide variety of audiences, including the streets of Vancouver during the 2010 Olympics, prisons in New Zealand, and orphanages in the Philippines. Through her teacher training journey she found similarities where creativity and emotional expression were evident. The connection of the mind and body along with self-awareness through yoga is why Courtney decided she wanted to deepen her understanding by dedicated daily practice, which brings her to where she is today.
